Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks an Electrical Engineer to design building electrical systems for diverse projects across the United States.

You will work on power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and life-safety systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design documents. You will mentor junior staff, participate in client meetings, and contribute to sustainable design solutions that improve energy efficiency and occupant comfort across facilities of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, and industry standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• EIT certification preferred; PE license or ability to obtain is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical building systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, educational, and government facilities.
• Prepare electrical calculations, technical specifications, construction documents, and engineering reports.
• Develop power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and life safety system designs.
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, architectural, and civil project team members.
• Participate in client meetings, field investigations, and construction administration activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers while supporting project delivery goals.
• Contribute to innovative and sustainable design solutions that improve building performance and energy efficiency.
