TEKsystems is staffing multiple Electrical Engineer I/II roles for a defense technology client based in Austin, TX. You will own a subsystem within the vessel electrical architecture and work under mentorship or increasingly independently with a senior engineer.

You will contribute to system integration across PLC controls, sensors, engines, and compute/sensor payloads, participate in full lifecycle design, and collaborate with software teams and manufacturing for on-floor debugging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• E1: 0–3 years experience; E2: 3–5 years experience.
• Subsystem-level electrical design experience in controls, sensor integration, engine controls, or compute/sensor payload integration.
• Ability to reason about system-level integration beyond single components.
• Firmware/OS-layer concepts understood to converse with software team.
• Comfort reading datasheets and working with vendor-supplied components.

Responsabilités

• Own a subsystem within the vessel electrical architecture with mentorship or increasing independence.
• Support system integration across PLC controls, sensors, engine controls, and compute payloads.
• Contribute across full lifecycle including design, test plans, FAT procedures, and floor-level debug.
• Collaborate with software team on integration points for owned subsystems.
• Support field testing of vessels.
• Engage with vendor components and help define requirements.
• Participate in cross-functional design reviews and peer reviews.
