Job summary

Saronic Technologies in Austin, TX seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, test, and implement electrical systems for autonomous maritime platforms.

You will collaborate with software, mechanical, and naval teams to prototype hardware, drive manufacturability, and ensure compliance with standards while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and complex system integration.
• Experience with wire harnessing, radios, transmissions, and system integration.
• Experience designing electrical systems for complex projects in automotive, maritime, or defense.
• Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, and ABS standards.
• Experience with programming languages and software development practices.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with core electrical design and manufacturing teams to improve function and reliability.
• Prototype early development hardware to learn design limitations.
• Implement design-for-manufacturability changes to enhance production efficiency.
• Resolve manufacturing discrepancies with the quality team.
• Participate in design reviews with suppliers and customers.
• Partner with teams to generate ideas and improvements for vessels.
• Source and advise vendors from a technical perspective.
• Analyze and solve difficult electrical problems with a system‑level approach.
• Identify opportunities to reduce risk and remove complexity in designs and processes.
• Challenge requirements to determine value-added work.
