Job summary

Novelis Oswego seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead design and maintenance of Electrical Automation systems, high/medium voltage switchyards, and controls to improve quality, throughput and efficiency.

You will guide engineers and technicians, coordinate power distribution, outages and preventive maintenance, and manage capital projects while adhering to safety and quality standards. The role starts at $107,200 per year with incentive plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Five+ years of experience as Electrical Engineer or Control/Systems Engineer.
• Experience with P&ID's, specifications and project requirements for electrical, instrument and control systems.
• Experience with PLC brands (Siemens, Modicon, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell).
• Experience with HMI products (WinCC Flexible, RSView, InTouch).
• Experience with AC/DC motor drives; electrical AutoCAD; and commissioning/maintenance in metal industry.

Responsibilities

• Select electrical equipment and coordinate electrical layout drawings, cable sizing, routing and schedules.
• Maintain high/medium voltage power to the facility.
• Conduct annual substation maintenance and transformer maintenance including oil samples and DC power.
• Improve site power distribution and switchgear lineups.
• Plan/coordinate plant power outages and preventive maintenance with partners.
• Maintain plant power distribution drawings and upgrade arc-flash ratings.
