Job summary
Novelis Oswego seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead design and maintenance of electrical automation, HV/MV switchyards, and controls. You will guide teams in electrical, reliability, and automation to improve quality, throughput, and efficiency at the Oswego site.
Responsibilities include selecting equipment, coordinating drawings, maintaining power distribution, performing substation and transformer maintenance, and overseeing upgrades and project scopes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- 5+ years of experience as Electrical Engineer or Control/Systems Engineer.
- Experience with P&ID, specifications, and project requirements for electrical/instrument/control systems.
- Experience with PLC brands (Siemens, Modicon, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell).
- Experience with HMI products (WinCC Flexible, RSView, InTouch).
- Experience with AC/DC motor drives; electrical AutoCAD; and commissioning/maintenance in metal industry.
Responsibilities
- Select electrical equipment and coordinate electrical layout drawings, cable sizing, routing and schedules.
- Maintain high/medium voltage power to the facility.
- Annual substation maintenance and transformer maintenance tasks.
- Oversee power distribution upgrades, arc-flash ratings, and MCCs. Manage capital projects.
