Job summary

1st St NW Technical Staffing is seeking an Electrical Engineer for an established automation engineering and manufacturing company in Minnesota. This direct-hire role can be staff-level or senior, focusing on designing and validating electro/mechanical actuators and sensor systems.

Responsibilities include designing circuits, schematics, PCB layouts, collaborating with mechanical engineers to optimize actuators, troubleshooting prototypes, and supporting test validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in electrical engineering.
• 4+ years in electrical design, testing, or product development.
• Experience with analog/digital circuits and motor control.
• Onsite work authorization in the US.

Job description

Established (and growing!) automation engineering & manufacturing company has an opening for an Electrical Engineer on a direct-hire basis. Will consider both staff-level and senior-level electrical engineer candidates!

Duties:

• Design and develop electrical circuits, control boards, and sensor systems used in electro/mechanical actuators
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and other documentation
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize actuator performance, including motor selection, feedback devices, and power requirements
• Troubleshoot electrical issues in prototypes and production units to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
• Support design validation through testing, data analysis, and performance verification
• Provide technical guidance to other team members

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar field
• 4+ years of experience in electrical design, testing, or product development
• Understanding of analog/digital circuits, DC/stepper motor control, sensors, and power electronics
• CAD software experience preferred (AutoCAD Electrical, Altium, OrCAD, etc.)
• Experience with actuators or motion control systems/products a plus
• Familiarity with embedded systems and/or PLC controls
• Ability to work onsite
• Authorization to work in US

Salary: $92-140K
