Job summary

The North Slope Borough seeks an Electrical Engineer in Alaska to plan, organize, manage, and coordinate engineering activities, including infrastructure assessments and multi-year planning. You will support DPW engineering functions and provide technical consulting to NSB departments when required.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards while collaborating with consultants and contractors to meet department goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Four years of progressive engineering experience in construction/engineering in Alaska.
• Two years of Arctic engineering experience.
• Alaska Driver's License that meets NSB criteria.
• Current Alaska Professional Engineering license registration.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, manage, and coordinate engineering activities for DPW.
• Oversee DPW engineering functions and related projects.
• Prepare and submit drawings, models, project statements, schedules, and reports.
• Examine and peer review project manuals, specifications, and contract documents.
• Provide technical consulting to NSB departments as directed by the Director.
• Supervise, train, and coordinate daily staff operations.
