Arconic Davenport Works is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide electrical engineering services to the Ingot Finishing Department, supporting production, maintenance and engineering. You will work on electrical systems safely integrated with manufacturing and upgrade existing equipment to improve efficiency and quality.

The role involves coordinating projects from concept through commissioning, mentoring others when needed, and occasional off-hours support while primarily daytime.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 1 internship, co-op, or related experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • ITAR requires U.S. person status (citizenship/residency).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of assigned electrical engineering projects from concept to closeout.
  • Lead and participate in problem solving with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Use PI Vision and Data Link to analyze process issues and propose solutions.
  • Develop electrical control solutions to support process improvements and reliability.
  • Assist production and maintenance with equipment and process issues.
  • Lead PLC/HMI redesigns and upgrades of existing processes.
  • Install and troubleshoot camera systems on industrial equipment.
  • Potentially mentor employees to share knowledge.
  • Day shift focus with potential off-hours support as needed.

We have an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer. They will provide electrical engineering services to the Ingot Finishing Department to safely meet Arconic’s business plan by providing support to production, maintenance, and engineering. In this role, you will serve as a critical team member in the efficiency, output, and quality of our processes and will be responsible for electrical systems safely integrated with manufacturing, along with upgrades of existing equipment.

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following job duties:

  • Coordinate all phases of assigned area electrical engineering projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure
  • Lead and participate in problem solving efforts with multi-discipline technical staff, maintenance and production
  • Use PI Vision and Data Link to analyze process issues and provide input to solve process problems
  • Create and develop electrical control solutions that will support process improvements and improve equipment reliability.
  • Assist production and maintenance with equipment and process issues
  • PLC/HMI and controls redesign and upgrades of existing processes
  • Install and troubleshoot camera systems on industrial equipment
  • May mentor employees to increase their knowledge of equipment and process, when needed
  • While this position is a primarily day-shift position, off-hours support will be required as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (at time of employment)
  • Minimum of 1 internship, co-op or other applicable work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience
  • 1-3 years' experience with PLC's, HMI's, AC/DC drives & motors, measuring devices and ethernet cameras
  • Proficiency with Rockwell programming software (i.e.: RS Logix and FactoryView)
  • 3 years or more of experience in leading electrical projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project programs
