Job summary

Safran Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer 3 in Costa Mesa, CA to design and lead electrical systems for aircraft interiors such as bins, galleys, lavatories, closets, and ceiling panels. You will create 3D models and 2D drawings, work with project engineers, and ensure design-to-cost targets are met.

The role reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager and requires experience with CATIA V5 and wiring/harness routing. Boeing experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of related experience encompassing aircraft interior electrical design.
• CATIA V5 modeling experience and electrification modules.
• Electrical control panels, wiring, harness routing, and installation.

Responsibilities

• Produce innovative 3D models and 2D drawings of aircraft interior products per specifications and project requirements.
• Collaborate with project engineers to complete engineering deliverables on schedule and budget.
• Create and check 3D models and 2D drawings meeting Safran design standards and processes.
• Incorporate design-to-cost practices to meet cost targets.
• Drive use of Safran Cabin standard parts in product development.
• Lead 3D model and drawing work through release to meet project timelines.
• Track task progress in the engineering management tool.
• Support engineers in resolving complex technical issues.
• Lead work packages with Electrical Engineer 1 and 2; create simple schematics.

Join our first-class team to reinvent in-flight experience. In the role of Electrical Engineer 3 you'll play a pivotal part on our Engineering team. The Electrical Engineer 3 creates (leads) systems design of aircraft interior products such as bins, galleys, lavatories, closets and ceiling panels used in commercial and private aircrafts using a computer aided drafting system. The Electrical Engineer 3 reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

Summary of Duties:

1. Produce innovative systems design 3D models and 2D drawings of aircraft interior products within technical specification and project requirements.
2. Work closely with project engineers to complete engineering deliverables per project schedule and budget.
3. Create and check 3D models and 2D drawings that meet the Safran design standards using Safran processes and documentations.
4. Ensure that design-to-cost practices are incorporated into new design to meet design cost targets.
5. Drive the use of Safran Cabin standard parts and design in product development.
6. Drive 3D models and 2D drawings all the way from creation through release to ensure project schedules are met.
7. Drive status of tasks and progress of work in Safran Engineering task management tool.
8. Work closely with project engineers to complete engineering deliverables per project schedule and budget.
9. Support engineers in resolving complex technical issues.
10. Lead work packages with the support of Electrical Engineer 1 and 2. Create schematic diagrams (simple).

• Minimum five (5) years of related experience encompassing aircraft interior electrical design, including galleys, stowage, FRM, and lavatories
• CATIA V5 modeling and electrification modules
• Electrical control panels, wiring, harness routing, and installation
• Boeing experience preferred but not required.
