Job summary

Ultrasonium is seeking a hands-on hardware engineer to own analog and power electronics subsystems from schematic through bring-up. You will design circuits, own PCB layout, and work with embedded firmware to enable real-time sensor interfaces.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 2–5 years of practical hardware design experience, with a focus on reliability and EMI/thermal management. On-site collaboration with the founding team is expected.

About The Role

You will design and develop analog and power electronics and PCBs, support embedded firmware and hardware bring-up, and contribute to the sensing and validation infrastructure our process depends on. You will work closely with the senior electrical engineer and the founding team, and take ownership of subsystems from design through test.

Key responsibilities

• Design analog and power electronics circuits and take them from concept to working hardware.
• Own PCB schematic capture and layout, applying good practice for signal integrity, EMC, and thermal management.
• Support embedded firmware development and real-time interfaces to sensors, actuators, and motion hardware.
• Run bench bring-up, measurement, and debugging.
• Select and qualify components for reliable operation.
• Support electrical V&V and documentation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, software, and process engineering.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of hands-on electronic hardware design experience.
• Proficiency in analog and power electronics design.
• PCB design and layout experience (KiCad, Altium, or equivalent).
• Some embedded firmware or real-time systems experience.
• Comfortable with bench instruments, measurement, and debugging.

Preferred Qualifications

• FPGA or DSP experience.
• Familiarity with DFM and DFT.
• High-voltage or power-electronics experience.
• Interest in advanced manufacturing processes.
