Job summary

Ardisam, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and document electrical systems for a range of outdoor products across brands like Eskimo, Earthquake, and ION.

You will collaborate with engineering, product development and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, scalable electrical solutions. The role requires hands-on design, testing and documentation of schematics, wiring diagrams and PCB layouts, with emphasis on safety standards and quality assurance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field; those with a 2-year technical degree and 6+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering or equivalent training.
  • Thorough understanding of electro-mechanical systems, electronic components, circuit design and digital control familiarity.
  • Experience with Li-Ion battery systems preferred.
  • Proficient with electrical and electromechanical test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Current probes, DMMs, data acquisition).
  • Familiarity with safety/EMC standards for electronic equipment and IPC quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and document electrical system requirements for existing and future products.
  • Create, review and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and PCB layouts.
  • Evaluate, specify and support sourcing of Li-Ion battery packs and chargers.
  • Specify and evaluate AC/DC/BLDC motors and motor controllers.
  • Create and implement test plans for prototypes and samples.
  • Act as SME for design, quality and testing of electrical components and systems.
  • Communicate project status updates to management and with suppliers.
  • Design and/or use data acquisition systems to verify product performance.

Job Summary:

Ardisam, Inc. is searching for an electrical engineer with the passion and motivation to contribute to innovative, industry-leading products. The electrical engineer will collaborate with a variety of colleagues from engineering, product development and manufacturing, and work across several of the Ardisam brands including ION, Eskimo, Earthquake, Jiffy, and Yardbird. In addition to being a team player, our ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver who finds pragmatic solutions to highly technical challenges.

The candidate will be exposed to a broad range of components and manufacturing processes including injection molded plastic, sheet metal, machining, rubber molding, IC engines, power transmission (mechanical and electrical), AC/DC motors, circuit boards, batteries, and sensors.

Job Duties:
  • Design and document electrical system requirements for existing and future products
  • Create, review and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and PCB layouts.
  • Evaluate, specify and support sourcing of Li-Ion battery packs and chargers.
  • Specify and evaluate AC/DC/BLDC motors, motor controllers and associated systems.
  • Create and implement test plans for evaluation of prototypes and competitive product samples
  • Design and document specialized electro-mechanical test equipment for internal use to evaluate products against specifications
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for design, quality, and testing of electrical components and systems
  • Effectively communicate project status updates to management
  • Effectively communicate with foreign suppliers
  • Design and/or utilize data acquisition systems to verify product performance
  • Assist other team members to develop and document quality expectations for products
  • Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry standards and regulations
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering or equivalent training and experience.
  • Thorough understanding of electro-mechanical systems, electronic components, circuit design and familiarity with digital control systems.
  • Experience with Li-Ion battery systems would be preferred.
  • Experienced with electronic design software and electrical simulation software (Altium, KiCAD, Spice, Simetrix, etc.)
  • Proficient in the use of electrical and electromechanical test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Current probes, DMMs, Data acquisition systems, etc.)
  • Familiarity with international and domestic safety and EMC standards for electronic equipment.
  • Familiarity with quality requirements for electronic assemblies (IPC standards, etc.)
  • Knowledge of standard quality assurance practices is preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Solidworks or other computer-aided design software applications a plus
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field. Those with a 2-year technical degree and 6+ years of relevant experience will also be considered.
