Job summary

EVONA is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer II for its Digital/Mixed-Signal Electronics team in Westminster, CO. You will own the full lifecycle of board-level electronics hardware design for advanced RF communication systems, with a focus on digital and mixed-signal implementations and fast-paced development cycles.

You will mentor junior engineers, perform design reviews, and drive key technical decisions, while collaborating closely with software, mechanical, and systems teams to deliver

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 6 years of board-level electronics design, analysis and test.
• Experience designing digital and mixed-signal electronics with emphasis on signal integrity, FPGA implementation, ADCs/DACs, and telemetry subsystems.
• Experience owning design phases of complex board-level electronics, including trade studies, part selection and detailed design.
• Experience delivering hardware designs through production and deployment.
• Proficiency in PCB layout, HDI stackups and high-speed routing.
• Experience running board-level signal integrity/power integrity simulations (e.g., Ansys SIwave, ADS SIPro, Mentor Hyperlynx).
• Proven debugging, root-cause analysis and design review skills.
• Depth in power converter design for digital boards.
• Strong collaboration with software and mechanical teams; extensive lab bring-up experience.

We are seeking a digital-focused Senior Electrical Design Engineer with a broad foundation in electrical design and test, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to peers and leadership. You will mentor junior engineers, perform thorough design reviews, and drive technical decision-making while leading focused efforts in fast-moving environments.

Job Requirements And Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
• Significant experience designing electronics with rigor, in teams that value thorough analysis and testing. Aerospace design experience preferred but not required.
• Expertise in aspects of digital and mixed-signal electronics, such as signal integrity, implementing FPGAs on boards, ADCs/DACs, and telemetry subsystems.
• Experience owning the design phase of complex board-level electronics, including trade studies, key part selection, and detailed design.
• Experience delivering hardware designs through production and deployment.
• Expertise in PCB layout, including high-density interconnect (HDI) stackup design and high-speed routing.
• Experience running board-level signal integrity and/or power integrity simulation tools such as Ansys SIwave, ADS SIPro, or Mentor Hyperlynx.
• Proven success in debugging, root cause analysis, and design reviews.
• Depth in point-of-load power converter design for digital boards.
• Strong working knowledge of adjacent fields, such as software and mechanical, that guides hardware design and system design.
• Extensive lab experience for bring-up and verification of new hardware.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with EMI/EMC concepts and design to mitigate these effects.
• Understanding of Military and/or DO specifications.
• Experience with design qualification.
• Experience leading small teams of hardware engineers to develop multi-module assemblies, including hardware architecture, requirements, make/buy decisions, and interconnects.
