Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Senior Hardware Development Engineer to lead the design, test, and validation of complex satellite communication hardware boards in Sammamish, WA. You will drive board bring-up, debugging, and verification across the full development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with high-speed interfaces, FPGA/ASIC-based systems, and lab equipment. Aerospace/defense exposure is a plus, and collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with board-level hardware design and development.
• Hands-on board bring-up, debugging, and validation.
• Experience with high-speed digital interfaces (DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes, JESD204) or similar.
• Familiarity with FPGA and/or ASIC-based systems.
• Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers).
• Experience across design, validation, and manufacturing phases.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with board-level hardware design and development.
• Strong hands-on experience with board bring-up, hardware debugging, and validation.
• Experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes, JESD204, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with FPGA and/or ASIC-based systems.
• Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
• Experience supporting products through design, validation, and manufacturing phases.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in aerospace, satellite, space, defense, or avionics industries.
• Knowledge of RF systems and phased-array hardware.
• Familiarity with Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, or Altium.
• Experience with Python-based test automation.Experience working on complex multilayer PCB designs.
