Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its Modular R&D team to design repeatable, factory-built electrical systems for next-generation data centers. The role focuses on delivering power distribution, grounding, and controls from concept to production in onsite modular environments.

Ideal candidates will have experience taking designs from prototype through full production, a strong grasp of manufacturing-friendly design, and familiarity with NEC/UL 508A codes.

Qualifications

• Experience designing complex electrical systems for modular, factory-built equipment.
• Proven ability to take designs from prototype through repeat production.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing-friendly design for factory installation.
• Familiarity with NEC and UL 508A electrical codes.
• Experience with CAD tools like AutoCAD Electrical or Revit.
• Data center power distribution experience or PE license is a plus.

Responsibilities

A rapidly growing technology company is building next-generation, factory-built infrastructure designed to support large-scale AI data center deployments. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their Modular R&D team and help develop repeatable, factory-built electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design electrical systems, power distribution, grounding, and controls integration from concept through production.
• Develop one-lines, panel schedules, cable/raceway designs, and detailed electrical drawings.
• Solve electrical, mechanical, and structural integration challenges within modular systems.
• Support factory and field teams, troubleshooting issues and incorporating improvements into future designs.
• Lead prototyping, mockups, fit checks, and first-article validation.
• Maintain design/configuration control through rapid product iterations.

Ideal Background:

• Electrical engineering experience with complex physical products, modular construction, critical facilities, or data centers.
• Experience taking designs from prototype/first article through repeat production.
• Strong understanding of designing for manufacturing and factory installation.
• Experience with electrical codes and standards such as NEC and UL 508A.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, or similar CAD tools.
• Data center power distribution, PE license, and DFM experience are a plus.
