Gromelski and Associates, Inc. (GAI) seeks an Electrical Engineer to perform electrical and system engineering in a military environment, designing and testing components, equipment, and networks for various applications.

The role covers the life cycle from requirements through installation on lab facilities and at-sea platforms. The candidate should have 4–6 years in related fields, strong interconnect experience, and capability to work in a team to meet delivery schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.
  • 4–6 years with commercial/open-source products; 3–5 years with cable/interconnect design; 2–3 years with complex systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to explain design issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop rack and/or stack cabling designs.
  • Create interconnect diagrams and cable run sheets.
  • Design, develop, integrate and test analog designs.
  • Model and simulate to optimize designs and margins.
  • Perform design analysis, technology assessments, and trade studies.
  • Specify and select COTS, ROTS, NDI and/or custom components.
  • Review requirements.
  • Test procedure development and execution.
  • System verification and validation.
  • Support limited Environmental Test and Analysis.
  • End-of-Life assessment and evaluation.

Key service areas include Engineering Design and Documentation; Software Development and Testing; System Integration, Testing and Evaluation; Lab Management and Field Installation; Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support.

Electrical Engineer Job Description:

Perform electrical and system engineering tasks to include researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks in a military environment. Develops designs for electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic use. Performs trade studies, design and technology assessments for emerging technologies. Candidate will analyze, define and design mainly COTS equipment for new or existing systems or subsystems. Success in this position requires an assertive, confident attitude and a commitment to working as a part of a team to meet critical delivery schedules.

Position spans the technology development life cycle, including requirements generation, system design and implementation, hardware procurement, integration, test, and installation across lab facilities and at-sea platforms.

Electrical Engineer Required Tasks:

Required Skills for Electrical Engineer:
  • 4-6 years’ experience implementing and customizing common commercial and open-source products.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with cable and interconnect design
  • 2-3 years’ experience with complex systems development and evaluation.
  • Experience with interface requirements and component level requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to explain design issues and solutions.
Desired Skills for Electrical Engineer:
  • 3-5 years’ experience with PCB design
  • Relevant experience would ideally cover schematic capture, component placement/layout, routing, and post-build inspection/test
  • 2-3 years’ experience with requirements derivation and capture.
  • Experience using Zuken E3 for harness and formboard designs
  • Experience using Siemens Xpedition for PCB designs
  • Experience developing factory checkout test procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced lab environment
Additional Requirementsfor Electrical Engineer:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience and one to five year’s professional experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a DoD Secret Clearance which means you must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Proactive/self-starter. Task driven with ability to work independently.
  • Team player that takes ownership and develops relationships with the team members which fosters team success.

Job:Full-Time Employee, 40 hours/week

Salary Range: $95,000 – $140,000
