Job summary

SPEC Process Engineering & Construction in Massachusetts seeks a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer with 5–10 years of experience in facility and building design to work on manufacturing plant projects.

You will write specifications, create electrical drawings, maintain panel schedules, select components, and travel to job sites to verify information, coordinating with contractors, engineers, and clients. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for full-time, on-site work.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of electrical engineering experience in facility/building design.
• Experience writing electrical specifications and creating drawings.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work with contractors, engineers, clients.

Responsibilities

• Write specifications pulled from a generic library and tailor to project needs.
• Create electrical drawings for power, lighting, tel/data, security, etc.; AutoCAD/Revit preferred.
• Maintain panel schedules for each branch circuit used.
• Lay out devices on a background and select components with internet research.
• Travel to jobsites to verify or record information at various project stages.
• Communicate with contractors, engineers, clients, and construction personnel; stay organized and willing to learn.

Mid-Level Electrical Engineer

with 5 to 10 years of experience and a background in facility/building design. Projects include new design and construction of manufacturing plants and facilities, and rehabilitation of existing plants/facilities and other high-hazard environments.

Expected responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Writing specifications (pulled from a generic library and tailored to specific project needs).
• Creating electrical drawings for power, lighting, tel/data, security, and others. Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
• Maintaining panel schedules for each branch circuit used.
• Laying out devices on a background.
• Selecting various components (make and model) to use. Will involve internet research and documentation.
• Travel to jobsites to verify or record information at various stages of projects.
• Good communication skills are a must as you will be working with contractors, engineers, clients, and construction personnel. Must have good organizational skills and willingness to learn.
