Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer will be working in our Tampa office. This engineer with a P.E. will join a multi‑disciplinary design team. This role will also include some business development, marketing, and project management duties.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the total electrical systems design for specific projects.
  • Make calculations integral to the electrical systems design.
  • Be familiar with and apply applicable building codes and standards.
  • Deal directly with clients/owners to determine specific project needs.
  • As Project Manager, manage, direct, and supervise the project to assure it confirms to the commitments related to time, quality, and communications. Deal directly with clients to establish project schedules and expectations.
  • Assist market segment manager and team leader in manpower projections and scheduling of work.
  • Manage, direct and supervise electrical engineering staff in the execution of specific projects to meet schedules and timely completion of projects. Schedule and lead electrical production staff meetings.
  • Supplement Salas O’Brien design standards and administrative procedures where needed.
  • Learn our client base and the services provided.
  • Identify new opportunities that may have synergistic benefit with our existing business.
  • Provide marketing support for project pursuits.
  • Capable of increasing technical competency with experience and work ethic.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with architects, owners, and contractors.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Design of Commercial and/or Healthcare Building experience is preferred.
  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering and 5 or more years of applicable experience in design/engineering of building electrical power systems.
  • Florida PE certification required.
  • Must have Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of project approach and system design.
  • Willingness to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Experience with healthcare facility design projects a plus.
  • Experience using and understanding of REVIT designing platforms.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills essential for team-based projects.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills required for simultaneous project schedules.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
