Job summary

Eastman in the United States is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support plant operations, troubleshoot, and lead the design of electrical equipment for safety, reliability, and cost efficiency. You will review drawings, specifications, and process controls to ensure compliance with NFPA 70, NEC, IEEE, and related codes.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 1 year in a manufacturing environment; chemical or petrochemical exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• At least 1 year of electrical engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience with electrical equipment design and safety standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot operations, equipment repairs, and support during turnarounds.
• Lead design and selection of electrical equipment for safety and cost.
• Prepare and review drawings, specs, and technical documents to standards.
• Apply NFPA 70, NEC, IEEE and other codes in electrical system design.
• Implement projects following Management of Change procedures.
• Provide process training and on-call support on a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support operations and electricians during ongoing plant operations including troubleshooting, equipment repairs and support during major turnarounds
• Lead the design and selection of electrical equipment considering factors such as safety, reliability, maintainability, cost and schedule
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes and regulations
• Apply industry codes and standards relevant to the chemical industry, such as NFPA 70, NEC, IEEE, and other applicable codes, in the design and evaluation of electrical systems and equipment
• Implement projects and process changes following Management of Change procedures
• Provide training on processes, process controls and changes to all levels within the department
• Provide on-call process operations support coverage on a rotating basis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in ElectricalEngineering required
• At least 1 year of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Experience in chemical or petrochemical industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to Electrical Engineering in the chemical industry preferred
• Experience troubleshooting instruments, controllers, PLCs and DeltaV DCS preferred
• Experience with SAP Maintenance preferred
• Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) preferred
• Strong communication and technical skills
• High degree of initiative
• Ability to contribute individually and as a leader in a team environment

The base salary range for this position is $92,000 to $126,500.
