Are you a licensed Professional Engineer looking to make a high-impact move? We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) in Royal Oak, MI to serve as our internal electrical authority, driving project design from early concepts through construction administration.
In this pivotal role, you will work alongside our mechanical and architectural teams, designing and stamping electrical construction documents for healthcare, institutional, and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Stamping: Prepare and stamp complete electrical construction documents (power distribution, lighting design, emergency power, and grounding systems).
- Code & System Calculations: Perform load calculations, size switchgear/panelboards, and ensure full compliance with NEC, NFPA 99 (Healthcare), NFPA 110, and energy codes.
- Low Voltage & Specialty Systems: Coordinate fire alarm risers, AV/telecom, security/CCTV, and nurse call systems with specialty contractors and AHJs.
- BIM & Cross-Team Coordination: Integrate electrical scope in Revit and resolve multi-discipline clashes with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams.
- Construction Administration & Field Visits: Review shop drawings, answer RFIs, conduct site visits, and support business development/proposals.
What We Are Looking For:
- Education & License: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) + Active Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) (Michigan registration or reciprocity required).
- Experience: 7+ years in electrical engineering for commercial, institutional, or healthcare facilities within an AEC/multidisciplinary environment.
- Technical Software: High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong background in NFPA 99/110, generator sizing, lighting photometrics/controls, and low-voltage coordination.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work independently as our sole in-house electrical authority while maintaining clear, collaborative communication with clients and contractors.
