Job summary

System One in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an Electrical Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to robot design, fabrication, testing, and hardware development on-site at 10 40th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.

The role focuses on circuit and sensor research, PCB schematic/layout, prototyping, wiring diagrams, and supplier coordination, with opportunities to work on motor controllers, imaging, optics, and 3D models using SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience in developing electrical circuits and electrical systems.
• Experience with UL certification process and NFPA 70 NEC knowledge.
• Circuit Design / EDA experience (Altium preferred).
• Nice-to-have MCU firmware: Atmel and STM32.
• Nice-to-have Python, MATLAB, C, C++ skills.
• Nice-to-have FPGA development and Industrial IO systems.
• Nice-to-have imaging, optics and power supply design.
• Nice-to-have motor controller and smart-battery design.
• Nice-to-have SolidWorks 3D modeling experience.

Responsibilities

Electrical Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer:

• Contribute to robot design, fabrication, assembly, and testing
• Research, identify and test relevant circuits and sensors find new sensors and ICs relevant to implementing and improving designs
• PCB board design, schematic and layout
• Circuit prototyping, PCB assembly and rework
• Generate wiring diagrams
• Source and procure electronic components and lab supplies
• Participate in hardware design process, reviews, and testing
• Perform light fabrication of prototype parts for robots, assemble and test mechanical and electrical assemblies

Required Qualifications (Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications):

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field
• Experience in developing electrical circuits and electrical systems
• Experience with UL certification process and extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Circuit Design / Electronic Design Automation (EDA) experience ( Altium preferred )

• a plus to have : Python/Bash scripting, Matlab, C, C++
