AM Technical Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Profe ssional Licensed Electrical Engineer to design power distribution, lighting and controls for cleanrooms and advanced laboratories in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical sectors.

You will lead electrical distribution design from medium to low voltage, coordinate with utilities and AHJs, and support construction administration from programming to site construction. A PE license and 6–10+ years of experience in electrical design are required.

Qualifications

  • PE license required; applications without PE number will not be considered.
  • 6–10+ years of electrical engineering design experience.
  • Cleanroom or Laboratory design experience.
  • Strong English writing skills for specs, reports, and memoranda.
  • US citizenship or permanent residency required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer electrical distribution systems from Medium Voltage (e.g. 35kV) through Low Voltage (e.g. 120V).
  • Engineer robust distribution systems such as double-ended main-tie-main MV switchgear and LV unit substations.
  • Coordinate electrical service requirements with Utilities.
  • Work with AHJs to meet code requirements at state and local levels.
  • Support Cleanroom and Advanced Laboratory Design for Semiconductor and Pharmaceutical Industries from programming through Construction Administration.
  • Perform electrical load, generator, UPS, and lighting calculations.
  • Conduct power system studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash) in ETAP/EasyPower/SKM.
  • Develop construction specs and designs for facility electrical equipment.
  • Prepare/modify drawings and BIM in CAD/REVIT with the team.
  • Develop electrical room layouts to support client processes and safety.
  • Research and update product/system specs to meet client needs.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary work for compliance with codes and AMTS standards.
  • Construction Administration including RFI/Submittal responses, site visits, punch lists.

Job description

We are looking for Professional Licensed Electrical Engineers to join our team! This position requires a license, leadership, attention to detail and collaborative project engineering skills. You will develop designs for building and equipment power distribution systems, lighting, and controls, focusing on cleanrooms and advanced laboratories. Semiconductor / microelectronics / laboratory industry required.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Engineer electrical distribution systems from Medium Voltage (e.g. 35kV) through Low Voltage (e.g. 120V).
  • Engineer robust and reliable distribution systems such as double-ended main-tie-main medium voltage switchgear and low voltage unit substations.
  • Coordinate electrical service requirements with Utilities.
  • Work with local AHJ’s and code authorities to ensure design meets state and local level requirements.
  • Support Cleanroom and Advanced LaboratoryDesign for Semiconductor and Pharmaceutical Industries from Programming through Construction Administration
  • Engineering calculations to ensure project requirements (e.g. electrical load calculations, generator sizing, UPS sizing, Lighting Calculations) are met.
  • Experience performing power systems studies such as short circuit, breaker coordination and arc flash in software such as ETAP, EasyPower or SKM.
  • Develop construction specifications and designs for facility electrical equipment
  • Prepare or modify drawings/BIM models in conjunction with CAD/REVIT team at all stages of design
  • Develop electrical room layout concepts to support client process and workflow needs and safety.
  • Research, create and update relevant product and system specifications, to meet technical needs of the client.
  • Monitor and coordinate interdisciplinary work for compliance to applicable codes, industry standards, best engineering practices and AMTS standards.
  • Construction Administration including RFI and Submittal responses, site visits and punch list, coordination with inspectors
  • Travel may be required, typically up to 25%, including international and domestic travel.
Position Requirements

  • Knowledge of and 6-10+ years' experience with engineering design in electrical engineering.
  • Cleanroom or Laboratory design experience.
  • Writing Skills required: English language specification writing, reports, and memoranda.
  • US Citizenship or permanent residency required.
  • Tool install design experience is a plus.
  • Open to new challenges that new engineering and technical projects will require. Flexible and can work on multiple engineering projects at the same time.
  • Action and results oriented. Succinct and data driven verbal and written communication is a must.
Education & Certification
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Discipline.
  • Active Professional Engineer License in Electrical Engineering Discipline.
Computer Skills
  • Computer Skills required: Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, Bluebeam. Must be proficient in Excel.
  • Experience with Pipe-Flo or equivalent software is a plus for mechanical or chemical.
  • Experience with SKM, ETAP or equivalent software is a must for electrical.
