Job summary

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Peachtree City, GA or Moon Township, PA to support battery energy storage and EV charging projects. This is an early-career role with hands-on exposure to power electronics, controls, and system integration.

You will design and test systems, develop schematics and documentation, collaborate across disciplines, and participate in prototype builds, validation, and field commissioning. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least 1 year of relevant engineering experience or hands-on project work.
• Eaton does not sponsor visa; no relocation offered; travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Support design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of BESS and EV charging systems.
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and docs.
• Assist integration/validation of batteries, power converters, controls, and interfaces.
• Conduct lab tests, collect data, and troubleshoot system issues.
• Collaborate across electrical, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:Eaton’s Energy Transition business is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and validation of battery energy storage and EV charging solutions. This is an early-career opportunity to gain hands-on experience with power electronics, energy storage, EV charging, controls, and system integration, while working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.• Support the design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of BESS, EV charging, and electrification systems.• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and engineering documentation.• Support integration and validation of batteries, power conversion systems, controls, and communication interfaces.• Perform laboratory testing, collect and analyze data, and help troubleshoot electrical and system-level issues.• Collaborate with electrical, firmware/software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and quality teams.• Support prototype builds, design reviews, product validation, certification, and field commissioning activities.• Develop test procedures, engineering reports, and work instructions.• Contribute to product safety, reliability, quality, and performance improvementsQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution (December 2026 grads are eligible to apply!)• Minimum one (1) year of relevant engineering experience, which may include internship, co-op, research, or significant hands-on project experience.• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitationPreferred Qualifications:• Coursework or hands-on experience in power electronics, such as converters, inverters, DC/DC converters, motor drives, or power supplies.• Exposure to battery energy storage, EV charging, renewable energy, or power distribution systems.• Familiarity with batteries, BMS, power conversion systems, or energy management/control systems.• Familiarity with CAN, Modbus, or other industrial communication protocols.• Firmware/programming experience using C/C++, Python, embedded systems, or microcontrollers is a plus.• Mechanical or electromechanical design aptitude is a plus.• Experience with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, data acquisition systems, or CAN tools is preferred.Skills:• Fundamental knowledge of electrical circuits, power electronics, power systems, or controls.• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.• Experience using basic electrical laboratory equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.• Commitment to electrical safety and safe work practices.• Strong engineering fundamentals and interest in power electronics and electrification.• Hands-on technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.• Curiosity and ability to learn new technologies quickly.• Effective collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams.• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.• Ability to support domestic and international travel up to 10%.All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
