Job summary

Actalent in Pasadena, CA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design analog and digital circuitry for spaceflight and robotics. This contract-to-hire role combines hands-on hardware development with lab validation in a collaborative engineering environment.

You will develop power systems and motor drivers, perform schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium), and maintain BOMs while supporting prototype bring-up and testing for space hardware with rigorous reliability standards.

Qualifications

  • BSEE required.
  • 2–7 years of experience in electrical engineering or hardware design.
  • Hands-on analog circuit design experience.
  • Proficiency in digital circuit design.
  • PCB design experience using Altium or similar tools.
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout experience.
  • Experience with electronics testing and debugging in a lab.

Essential Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).

Work Environment

This role is based in a research and development environment focused on spacecraft and space robotics used on rover missions. You will spend significant time in an electronics lab working with oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment to develop and validate cutting-edge hardware. The work centers on state-of-the-art technology and involves contributing to multiple projects that will be deployed in space, including upcoming lunar programs. The environment encourages innovation, hands-on experimentation, and close collaboration with engineers across robotics, aerospace, and satellite disciplines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
