Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design, construction, or operation of mission-critical facilities and data centers. The role focuses on developing complex electrical systems that ensure high availability, reliability, and compliance across large-scale projects.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years experience with power distribution, UPS, generators, and NEC compliance, and will mentor teams on-site in Oklahoma City.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 8+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience with data center, colocation, cloud infra, or mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design for data center and mission-critical projects.
  • Develop and review electrical system designs, specs, calculations, and docs.
  • Design and analyze medium- and low-voltage power distribution.
  • Support UPS, standby generators, switchgear, switchboards, and PDUs.
  • Perform load studies, short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash analyses.
  • Partner with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients across phases.
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and commissioning support.
  • Ensure NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and local code compliance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
  • Participate in client meetings as a technical resource.

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Pay: $150,000 - $200,000 / Annual

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-5 onsite

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience supporting the design, construction, or operation of mission‑critical facilities and data centers. This individual will play a key role in the development of complex electrical systems that support high‑availability environments, ensuring reliability, efficiency, scalability, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in power distribution, backup power systems, and electrical infrastructure for critical facilities. This position offers the opportunity to work on large‑scale projects from concept through commissioning while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering design efforts for data center and mission‑critical facility projects.
  • Develop and review electrical system designs, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
  • Design and analyze medium‑voltage and low‑voltage power distribution systems.
  • Support the design and implementation of UPS systems, standby generators, switchgear, switchboards, PDUs, and related critical power infrastructure.
  • Perform load studies, short‑circuit analysis, coordination studies, arc flash analysis, and power system evaluations.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients throughout all project phases.
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and commissioning support activities.
  • Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, local codes, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across project teams.
  • Participate in client meetings and serve as a trusted technical resource.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience designing or supporting data center, colocation, cloud infrastructure, or other mission‑critical facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems and critical power infrastructure.
  • Experience with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, switchboards, and emergency power systems.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, or similar engineering software.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
  • Experience with hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation data center projects.
  • Experience supporting commissioning and startup activities.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, resiliency, and redundancy concepts (N+1, 2N, etc.).
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
