Job description

Job Position: Electrical Engineer - Energy

Purpose: As an Electrical Engineer at Knobelsdorff, you will play a key role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing systems and equipment associated with solar energy and BESS installations. You will contribute to developing innovative solutions that meet client needs and industry standards. This position requires onsite visits to assess customer sites and electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate on projects, managing timelines to ensure timely completion.
  2. Design and construct systems such as DC Solar, LV AC, MV equipment, Monitoring and Communication, and Grounding.
  3. Support design, maintenance, and improvement of electrical systems for solar energy and BESS.
  4. Perform engineering tasks using CAD and other software for layouts, voltage drops, etc.
  5. Consult with clients and team members on projects.
  6. Ensure installation and operations comply with standards like NEC by preparing specifications and drawings.
  7. Establish standards through detailed calculations.
  8. Coordinate installation, manufacturing, and testing activities to ensure compliance.
  9. Document and report on electrical engineering projects.
  10. Prepare specifications for electrical equipment procurement.
  11. Engage with project teams from design through construction.
  12. Manage projects and foster client relationships.
  13. Work collaboratively to execute complex projects under supervision.
  14. Build strategic partnerships.
  15. Gain technical knowledge to support the engineering team.
  16. Interface with regulatory agencies and manufacturers/distributors.
  17. Manage project documentation securely.
  18. Handle multiple tasks effectively and work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
  19. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PV Case.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. 1-2 years in electrical engineering, including design and constructability.
  3. Good communication skills and positive attitude.
  4. Experience or interest in relevant software.
  5. Knowledge of electronic engineering codes.
  6. Self-motivated and adaptable to strategic changes.
  7. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to sit, stand, kneel, walk, and lift up to 20 lbs.
