Job description

Current job opportunities are posted here as they become available.

BOOST LLC is a dynamic management consulting firm that offers an array of government-compliant back-office solutions to support our teaming partners within the GovCon space. Our consultants are experts in Accounting, Contracts, Human Resources, Recruiting & Sourcing, and Strategic Pricing, and our passion is guiding our partners toward success within this competitive sector. We are working with our client, Don Selvy Enterprises (DSE) to find their next highly skilled Electrical Engineer.

About DSE

DSE, Inc. is a team of experienced professionals dedicated to engineering, training, and program management that enables front-line soldiers, sailors, and Marines to fully exploit the tactical capabilities of aviation and maritime platforms. We accomplish this by using the most qualified employees and keeping abreast of every new capability in aviation, maritime technologies, and simulation/training technology as it emerges. Our wide range of expertise is constantly expanding as we seek valued members of the DSE team and work to develop each of them to their fullest potential in the field. To this day, DSE continues to foster a work environment that supports ingenuity and the care for each member of the team.

The Role

The Electrical Engineer provides technical and engineering support services for the Air Combat Electronics program office at NAVAIR (PMA-209). Candidates should have experience with software-defined radios, including Embedded COMSEC, anti-jam, and SATCOM waveforms. Work products include review of ECPs and CDRL documents, drafting technical white papers and platform integration plans, and testing ARC-210 radio capabilities provided through Collins radio and RCU software releases.

Why DSE

DSE doesn't just ask for your experience, it rewards it. DSE's PTO program is experience-based rather than tenure-based, meaning the relevant industry experience you bring with you can qualify you for a higher PTO allocation from day one, rather than starting over at the bottom like you would at most employers. It's a rare structure in this industry, where most companies only reward the tenure you earn after you join, not the years of expertise you bring with you.

That same philosophy carries through the rest of the benefits package:

  • Starting salary range: $129,000 to $160,000 annually
  • 100% company-paid medical and dental premiums for employees (50% for dependents)
  • 401(k) with up to a 4% company match
  • Fully paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance, no cost to you
  • Employer-funded FSA plus HRA contributions toward your deductible
  • Experience-based PTO: your prior relevant experience can qualify you for a higher PTO allocation from day one, plus the option to purchase additional PTO
  • 11 paid holidays (6 national, 5 floating)
  • Tuition reimbursement to support continued professional growth
Responsibilities

Engineering and Development

  • Investigate, analyze, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate military weapons systems using advanced engineering principles and tools
  • Ensure designs meet operational requirements, addressing both functional and performance specifications
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and methodologies for optimal system integration and performance

Technical Documentation and Analysis

  • Review and prepare detailed engineering and technical analyses, change proposals, feasibility studies, and other technical documentation
  • Develop technical reports that provide recommendations for design modifications, system improvements, or resource allocations

Systems Integration and Testing

  • Perform critical systems integration to ensure seamless interaction between components and subsystems
  • Lead quality assurance testing, troubleshooting, and validation to maintain compliance with performance standards
  • Recommend and prepare inputs for test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria, ensuring thorough evaluation of system functionality

Process Improvement

  • Develop and standardize processes by writing detailed procedures, work instructions, and design practice criteria
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and accuracy

Performance Evaluation

  • Evaluate technical specifications, ensuring alignment with stringent military standards and performance requirements
  • Analyze performance metrics to identify risks, resolve technical challenges, and enhance system reliability and functionality
Required Education
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, or an Engineering discipline; a four-year ABET-accredited engineering degree is preferred
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering role
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements
Preferred Experience
  • 3 years of experience with Navy Test and Evaluation planning and execution
  • 3 or more years of experience in Electronic Countermeasure Systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with the DoD Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process
  • Familiarity with Naval Test Procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

DSE is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
