Job summary

Hernshead Recruitment is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer for PCB development in Herndon, VA. The role focuses on designing multilayer boards for advanced hardware systems.

Responsibilities include schematic capture, layout, prototyping, bring-up, DFM, and collaboration with mechanical and systems engineers to integrate electrical designs into platforms. 3–6 years of PCB design experience and Altium familiarity are preferred; RF exposure is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of hands-on PCB design experience with schematic capture and layout (Altium preferred).
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design fundamentals.
  • Experience with high-speed and multilayer board design.
  • Exposure to RF circuit design or RF-adjacent systems is a plus, but not required.
  • Comfortable working through the full hardware development cycle, from concept to production.
  • Ability to work on-site in Herndon, VA full-time.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Prior experience in defense, aerospace, or another regulated hardware industry is a plus.

Job description

This is a mid-level Electrical Engineer opportunity focused on PCB development within a growing engineering team building advanced hardware systems. The role sits on-site in Herndon, VA and covers the full board development lifecycle, from schematic capture through layout, prototyping, and bring-up.
