Actalent is seeking a contract-to-hire Quality Engineer for the Lexington, KY area. You will work with SMT and electronic assembly processes, coordinating with Production and Japan to diagnose defects, write reports, and implement corrective actions.

The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, PPAP, and containment strategies, with onsite problem solving. The ideal candidate has an Electrical Engineering background, reading schematics, strong troubleshooting, and customer-service skills.

Description

This position will be working in the RMA group. Will work with SMT or electronic assembly process. Will work with groups in Production and Japan to help solve quality problems occurring in process. This could involve PPAP's, containment, issuing corrective actions and provide follow-up/solutions as well as writing detailed reports on analysis, help with work instructions, deal with component issues. Will be involved with troubleshooting electronics to understand where defect is coming from so knowledge of electrical/electronics is needed. Responsible for cost reductions for defects. Will use 8D/5 Why problem solving to identify root cause and establish counter-measures and improve processes. In RMA, if bad part is returned this person will breakdown component and use oscilloscope to help determine cause of failure.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
