Actalent is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues on the Indianapolis floor and with customers. You will work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve problems and drive continuous improvements.

The role requires 3+ years in heavy industrial manufacturing, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and comfort working on the production floor, engaging directly with customers to deliver timely solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting equipment.
• Basic understanding of engineering ECRs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical liaison between customers, production, engineering, and quality teams to investigate and resolve product-related issues.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to gather information, diagnose problems, and communicate resolution plans.
• Support the investigation of equipment and vehicle system issues, including those involving electrical controls and communication networks.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop, test, and implement solutions that improve product performance and reliability.
• Document root cause findings, corrective actions, and process improvements in accordance with company standards.
• Analyze recurring production and field issues to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of troubleshooting guides, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Participate in product builds, testing activities, and customer support efforts to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Leverage a general understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and communication protocols such as CANbus to support troubleshooting activities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.47 - $48.08/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
