Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Engineering & Technical Support
- Serve as the primary engineering resource for plant electrical systems and equipment.
- Provide technical support to production, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams.
- Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues impacting safety, quality, reliability, and production.
- Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Identify and execute opportunities to improve equipment performance, uptime, and energy efficiency.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
- Apply engineering best practices to improve asset reliability and operational effectiveness.
- Evaluate existing systems and recommend upgrades, modifications, or modernization projects.
Capital Projects & Process Improvements
- Develop and manage electrical and infrastructure improvement projects from concept through startup.
- Define project scopes, schedules, budgets, and expected business outcomes.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, installation, contractor activities, and commissioning efforts.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Monitor project costs, timelines, and deliverables to achieve budget and schedule targets.
- Support major maintenance shutdowns and outage planning activities.
Capital Planning & Strategic Support
- Assist in developing annual capital and major maintenance plans.
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, reliability improvements, and process enhancements.
- Develop project justifications, cost estimates, and return-on-investment analyses.
- Prepare technical specifications and scope-of-work documentation.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and equipment recommendations.
- Work closely with purchasing, contractors, and suppliers throughout project execution.
- Ensure all contractor work complies with site safety and operational requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 0-12+ years of engineering experience within manufacturing, industrial, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Preferred
- Experience supporting manufacturing equipment, power distribution systems, motors, drives, controls, and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience working directly with maintenance and production teams in a plant environment.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.
- Experience leading capital projects and equipment installation efforts.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to support occasional off‑shift work during project installations, outages, or critical equipment issues.
