Job summary

CRP Group is seeking a Senior Electrical & Automation Design Engineer in Texas to lead the design of power distribution, automation and control systems for municipal water and wastewater facilities.

You will collaborate with consulting engineers, municipalities, contractors and project managers to develop practical engineering solutions from design through construction, including field visits and constructability reviews. A PE license is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in electrical and/or controls design engineering.
• Strong experience with electrical power distribution and industrial electrical systems.
• Experience with automation, controls, PLCs, SCADA and instrumentation.
• Ability to interpret and produce electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• A PE licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and automation design projects for water and wastewater facilities.
• Design electrical distribution systems, including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, equipment layouts and electrical plans.
• Develop and coordinate automation and control systems, including PLC architecture, SCADA, instrumentation and communications.
• Prepare and review electrical, instrumentation and process control specifications.
• Review contractor/shop drawings, equipment submittals and O&M documentation.
• Carry out constructability and quality reviews of engineering designs.
• Visit client sites to assess existing electrical and control systems and field conditions.
• Work with construction teams to resolve design issues and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with specifications.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consulting engineers and other disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.

Senior Electrical & Automation Design Engineer

About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical & Automation Design Engineer for an established engineering and technology business specialising in water and wastewater infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical/controls engineer to take a senior role delivering the design of electrical power distribution, automation and control systems for municipal water and wastewater facilities.

You will work closely with consulting engineers, municipalities, contractors, integrators and project managers to develop practical, high-quality engineering solutions from initial design through to construction.

About You

• AutoCAD experience is preferred
• Experience within water/wastewater, municipal infrastructure or other process/industrial environments is highly desirable
• A PE licence is advantageous.
