Job summary

Grady-White Boats in North Carolina seeks an electrical engineer to design and develop new electrical systems for premium fiberglass powerboats and improve existing ones.

You will work with the product design team to create reliable high and low voltage systems meeting marine standards, research new technologies, build supplier relationships, and provide guidance to colleagues through clear written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or significant industry experience.
  • Experience with recreational marine systems preferred.
  • Certifications or training related to marine electronics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for premium fiberglass powerboats, both high and low voltage.
  • Improve existing systems to meet applicable marine industry standards.
  • Research and source new technologies and equipment.
  • Provide training and guidance to associates through clear written and verbal communication.

Job description

  • Designing and developing new electrical systems and improving existing systems for premium fiberglass powerboats.
  • Ability to work as an integral member of the product design team to create reliable high and low voltage electrical systems that meet applicable marine industry standards.
  • Researching and sourcing new technologies and equipment.
  • Developing implementation strategies, building relationships with suppliers and supporting their design efforts.
  • Ability to provide training and guidance to other associates through clear written and verbal communication.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline, or education in a related field with significant industry experience.
  • Experience with recreational marine systems is preferred and prior work in boat building or a similar industry is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of installation, operation and troubleshooting marine electronics, as well as certifications or training related to this field are a plus.
  • Computer skills, Microsoft office, AutoCad, Solidworks or similar CAD software.
