Find Great People | FGP is hiring an Electrical Engineer in Greenville, SC to design, develop, and optimize packaging manufacturing equipment.

You will support automation projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced plant environment, requiring 3–5 years of relevant experience and a strong background in PLCs, HMIs, and motor controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years in manufacturing electrical engineering.
  • Experience with PLCs, automation, motor controls, sensors.
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley/Siemens or similar systems.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and automation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support PLC programming, HMI, motion controls, VFDs, and control systems.
  • Lead equipment installation, commissioning, startup activities.

  • Develop electrical schematics, docs, and equipment specs.
  • Ensure safety standards and electrical codes compliance.

Job description

A leading manufacturer in the packaging industry, committed to innovation, quality, and operational excellence. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to support, improve, and optimize our manufacturing equipment and production processes. This role offers the opportunity to work on automation projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment used in packaging operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, control, and automation issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support PLC programming, HMI interfaces, motion controls, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
  • Lead and participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to improve production efficiency and reliability.
  • Develop electrical schematics, technical documentation, and equipment specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, electrical codes, and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLCs, industrial automation, motor controls, sensors, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar control systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent electrical design software.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

  • Experience in packaging, converting, consumer goods, food manufacturing, or related industries.
