Job summary

Novax Recruitment is seeking a Staff High Voltage Electrical Engineer in Georgia, USA to lead HV design across major industrial and energy projects.

The role focuses on 69kV to 345kV substations, protection and controls, relay coordination, grounding, and grid studies, owning design packages from concept through commissioning.

Candidates should have relevant HV design experience in EPC/utility settings and PE licensure or eligibility to obtain PE in requested states soon after starting.

Qualifications

• High voltage design experience in EPC/utility/renewables/heavy industrial environments.
• Substation design experience for 69kV–345kV systems.
• Experience with single-line diagrams, grounding, protection and control systems.
• Power system studies including short circuit, load flow, arc flash and stability studies.
• Exposure to PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN OneLiner, ETAP, SKM or similar.
• SEL relay settings experience would be highly beneficial.
• Professional Engineer licence or ability to obtain PE in Nevada and South Carolina shortly after starting.

The energy transition is creating one of the biggest infrastructure challenges in the United States.

Battery manufacturing, recycling, renewable energy, AI, data centres and electrification all rely on one thing: reliable electrical infrastructure.

We are supporting a major US battery materials and energy storage business that is building critical infrastructure at scale. They are looking for a Staff High Voltage Electrical Engineer to lead the design of high voltage electrical systems across major industrial and energy projects.

This is a senior technical role focused on 69kV to 345kV substations, transmission integration, protection and controls, relay coordination, grounding, grid studies and interconnection.

You will be responsible for owning high voltage design packages from concept through commissioning, working closely with utilities, ISO/RTOs, construction teams, consultants and internal engineering teams.

Key experience required:

• High voltage electrical design experience, ideally within EPC, utility, renewables, BESS or heavy industrial environments
• Strong substation design experience across 69kV to 345kV systems
• Experience with single-line diagrams, physical layouts, grounding, protection and control systems
• Power system studies including short circuit, load flow, arc flash and stability studies
• Exposure to PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN OneLiner, ETAP, SKM or similar
• SEL relay settings experience would be highly beneficial
• Professional Engineer licence, or ability to obtain PE in Nevada and South Carolina shortly after starting
