Job summary

Saxon Global is seeking a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer in the Atlanta area to lead HV substation design activities for utility projects up to 765kV. The role encompasses detailed engineering, EPC execution, technical leadership, client coordination, and design quality. An active PE license is required.

Responsibilities include protection & control design, physical substation layouts, BOMs, and mentoring junior engineers. Travel to client sites and project offices is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Active PE license required.
• High-voltage substation design experience, preferably through EPC.
• Experience with HV projects up to 765kV.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables, schedules, and budgets.

• Lead electrical engineering and provide technical direction on HV substation projects up to 765kV.
• Develop and review protection & control designs, including protective relays, panel layouts, one-line/three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Develop and review physical substation designs, including yard layouts, grounding, lightning protection, control buildings, and auxiliary AC/DC systems.
• Prepare electrical equipment specifications, equipment lists, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Perform technical and quality reviews of engineering design packages.
• Manage engineering schedules, budgets, deliverables, and technical coordination.
• Work closely with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Provide technical presentations, project updates, and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support proposals, business development, and project pursuit activities.
• Travel to client/vendor offices and project sites for design reviews, field verification, and construction support as needed.

Required Qualifications
