Atomic Machines is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and integrate control electronics for our micromanufacturing nodes in Emeryville and Santa Clara.
You will work on a multiprocessor system with networking, machine control, vision, and motion, handling interconnects, bring-up firmware, and hardware/software integration with Embedded, Mechanical, and Software teams. Equity and benefits are included.
Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler™ technology. This full-stack technology enables new classes of micromachines to be designed and built by offering manufacturing processes and a materials library that is inaccessible to semiconductor manufacturing methods. It promises to unlock MEMS manufacturing for the many device classes frustrated by semiconductor methods and to open up entirely new product classes. Our technology fully realizes the digital manufacturing dream: bits and raw materials go in, and complete, functional micromachines come out. The Atomic Machines team has also created an exciting first device—one that was only made possible by the existence of our technology—that we will be unveiling to the world soon.
Our offices are in Emeryville and Santa Clara, California.
We are looking for a well-rounded Electrical Engineer who enjoys working in an agile environment. We expect our engineers to be self-motivated, willing, and capable of making decisions based on incomplete information, and to have a get-it-done attitude.
The main line of work will be to build and integrate machine control systems for our custom manufacturing nodes. Our system is built around a multiprocessor architecture, with distinct processors handling networking, general machine control, and specialty controls such as vision and motion. Interconnect selection, prototype cabling, and bring-up firmware are also important aspects of the job.
We emphasize modularity for reuse to speed up subsequent builds of nodes with similar needs.
The compensation for this position also includes equity and benefits.
Salary Range
$140,000 - $180,000 USD
