Job summary

General Galactic Technologies Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our focused avionics team in Los Angeles, developing critical spacecraft electronics for missions in 2026 and 2027. You will own end-to-end hardware development, from schematic capture to board bring-up and integration.

Qualified candidates have a BS in engineering and 2+ years of aerospace hardware experience, with proficiency in CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, and ECAD tools.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of electrical hardware development experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, and hardware debugging.
• Experience designing analog, digital, power, and embedded electrical systems.
• Familiarity with interfaces such as CAN, RS-422, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, and discrete I/O.
• Experience with wiring harness design, grounding, shielding, and EMC considerations.
• Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, electronic loads).
• ECAD tools such as Altium, KiCad, or OrCAD.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver spacecraft electrical systems meeting power and interface requirements.
• Own schematic capture, PCB layout, fabrication, assembly, and board bring-up.
• Design avionics, power electronics, sensor interfaces, and microcontroller hardware.
• Develop wiring harnesses, connectors, grounding, shielding, and interface control documents.
• Perform bench testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis on hardware.
• Support system integration, environmental testing, qualification, and acceptance testing.
• Maintain design documentation, schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and reports.

Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with a focused technical team to develop critical avionics for our product fleet, including missions flying in 2026 and 2027. You’ll have extreme ownership over your work, move quickly, and operate with high agency. As we grow, there will be opportunities to expand your role with the company. You will contribute to all, and own many, aspects of electrical system development, testing, qualification, and deployment for General Galactic missions and vehicles.

Responsibilities may include:

• Architect and deliver spacecraft electrical systems that meet power, performance, reliability, and interface requirements
• Own schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, fabrication, assembly, and board bring-up
• Design avionics, power electronics, sensor interfaces, communication interfaces, and microcontroller-based hardware
• Develop and integrate spacecraft wiring harnesses, connectors, grounding, shielding, and electrical interface control documents
• Perform bench testing, debugging, root-cause analysis, and design iteration on flight and ground hardware
• Support system integration, environmental testing, qualification, and acceptance testing
• Maintain clear design documentation, schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and test reports

Requirements

Successful applicants should have most of the following:

• BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of electrical hardware development experience, preferably in aerospace
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, and hardware debugging
• Experience designing analog, digital, power, and embedded electrical systems
• Familiarity with common interfaces such as CAN, RS-422, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, and discrete I/O
• Experience with wiring harness design, connector selection, grounding, shielding, and EMC considerations
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, electronic loads, and power supplies
• Experience with Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar ECAD tools
• Understanding of component derating, radiation effects, thermal constraints, and high-reliability design
• Experience with environmental testing, qualification, failure analysis, and corrective actions
• Experience in a fast-paced startup or similarly hands-on environment
• First-principles approach to solving problems with incomplete information
