Job summary

Nbutexas in Texas is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for custom industrial enclosures and power equipment from concept through manufacturing. You will create schematics, BOMs, panel layouts, and perform load calculations, collaborating with engineering, fabrication, and production teams to meet project requirements and timelines.

Strong AutoCAD (Electrical) and NEC/NFPA knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Strong AutoCAD experience, preferably AutoCAD Electrical.
• Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes.
• Experience designing electrical systems, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to perform panel loading calculations, wire sizing, and BOM creation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for custom industrial enclosures and power generation equipment.
• Review customer specs and develop electrical designs meeting requirements.
• Create schematics, electrical drawings, Bills of Materials, and panel layouts.
• Perform load calculations and conduit/cable sizing.
• Provide technical direction to designers and drafters throughout the design process.
• Partner with manufacturing and production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, and customer specs.

Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience with generators, switchgear, UPS systems, or emergency power equipment
• Manufacturing experience with industrial equipment, structural steel, skids, or packaged systems
• Autodesk Inventor, Revit MEP, or other 3D CAD software
• Accubid or similar estimating software
• Experience working with Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU, Schneider, or similar equipment manufacturers
