Responsibilities

• Design power distribution (utility coordination, transformers, switchgear, panelboards, feeders), lighting/controls, fire alarm, emergency/standby power, UPS, and low‑voltage systems.
• Prepare construction documents: plans, specs, single‑lines, panel schedules, equipment layouts.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop, fault current, and equipment sizing.
• Coordinate with architectural/structural/mechanical/plumbing/fire protection teams.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders; conduct site visits and construction observation.
• Ensure NEC, NFPA, CEC, and local code compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers; manage budgets/schedules; support client meetings and proposals.

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 7+ years designing electrical systems for commercial building projects (commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, hospitality, mixed-use, industrial). PE license strongly preferred; EIT with progressive design experience considered. Will independently lead design from concept through construction administration, mentor junior staff, and manage multiple projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years commercial electrical design experience
• PE preferred; EIT with path to PE considered
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, emergency/standby power, fire alarm, low‑voltage systems, and coordination studies
• Thorough knowledge of NEC, NFPA, CEC, Title 24, and local codes
• Strong communication, organization, and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CA PE license (or reciprocity eligibility)
• Experience with healthcare, lab, mission‑critical, life sciences, higher ed, or mixed‑use projects
• Multidisciplinary team leadership
• Short‑circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies (ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower)

Software: Revit, AutoCAD, SKM/ETAP/EasyPower, AGi32 or Visual Lighting, Bluebeam Revu, MS Office, BIM 360/ACC (preferred)
