Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on the design and development of rugged, high‑performance electronics used in mission‑critical defense applications, with a strong emphasis on PCB layout and design. Experience or interest in RF circuit and antenna design is a significant plus.

Clearance

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Technical Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of design, development, fabrication, and quality assurance of electrical and electronic systems for austere operational environments.
  • Ability to learn and apply innovative technologies and techniques within electrical/electronic engineering to improve products, processes, and capabilities.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical engineering topics such as analog/digital circuit design, embedded microcontroller design, and compact antenna design and integration.
  • Experience in modeling and analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, and component fabrication.
  • Proficiency with test methodologies, diagnostic equipment, and software for inspecting, testing, analyzing, and resolving electrical system designs.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct research, development, testing, and integration of custom embedded systems and special communications capabilities.
  • Develop rapid engineering solutions to emergent non‑conventional threats, turning high‑level requirements into engineering designs that integrate microelectronics with novel fabrication techniques.
  • Design and develop electrical circuits, RF receivers, and electrically‑small antenna designs with minimal oversight; perform analog/digital circuit design, embedded microcontroller design, and compact antenna design and integration.
  • Model circuits, capture schematics, perform PCB layout, and fabricate components; develop supporting code and present technical status and decisions during design reviews.
  • Support integration and testing of developed products to ensure reliable functionality; lead developmental and verification testing, including electromagnetic and environmental testing.
  • Collaborate with project leads to analyze and refine requirements, research alternative solutions, and identify technical risks.
  • Build prototypes in concert with technicians to prove concepts.
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineers for integration of designs into customized mechanical packages.
  • Document design solutions and adhere to configuration management processes.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, aligned with SimVentions’ corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements. The projected annual compensation range for this position is $85,000 – $105,000 (USD).
