Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer II designs, wires, programs, tests, and troubleshoots custom equipment used in the manufacturing process.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Design, document, and implement complex machine control systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair machine control systems
  • Verify safe, reliable machine operation and initiate corrective action
  • Evaluate and source cost‑effective replacement parts
  • Create and edit programs for PLCs, HMIs, and motion controllers
  • Estimate cost and completion date for assigned projects
  • Layout and wire complex panels, controls, and machine control systems
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to equipment
  • Complete assigned projects independently
  • Handle confidential information regularly
  • Provide technical guidance to Electrical Engineer I and Technician I
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Machine Engineering Supervisor or Lead Electrical Engineer
Qualifications
  • High school diploma with a minimum of 15 years of experience; or BSEE/BSEET with 10 years of experience
  • Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and industrial control best practices
  • Proficiency in industrial control and power system design and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read, create, and evaluate electrical schematics
  • Strong math skills
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, drives, and motion control programming
  • Project management and technical leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Availability for flexible hours and overtime as required
  • Computer proficiency for required software
