Job summary

Jobtailor in Clearwater, FL is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and support industrial control equipment. You will create designs, prepare engineering documents, and contribute to proposals using AutoCAD and PLC-based control systems.

You will review requirements, ensure compliance with IEC/NEC/NFPA standards, and collaborate with a project team to meet deadlines. Strong technical writing and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
• Prefer 3-5 years’ experience designing industrial control equipment
• AutoCAD experience required.
• Experience designing control panels based on relay or PLC control.
• Experience writing PLC control logic is a plus.
• Knowledge of plant process control and monitoring is a plus.
• Working knowledge of related codes and standards, including IEC, NEC and NFPA.
• Proficiency in technical writing required.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a creative, professional, team environment
• Compliance with company attendance standards.
• Ability to perform keying/typing, sitting, standing, and walking, with constant mental and/or visual attention in an office environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of equipment.

• Research and review project requirements and design information to determine sufficiency and feasibility.
• Design control systems based on customer specifications.
• Assist with preparation of engineering documents.
• Communicate with the project team to establish essential functions and deadlines.
• Create designs and drawings using customized CAD templates, standard templates, or existing CAD files.
• Analyze reports, drawings, and tests to plan and design projects.
• Complete designs according to project documents and Scope of Work.
• Correct existing drawings following the quality review process.
• Review drawings and documents for alignment with scoping and corporate standards.
• Assist the sales team with scope and estimates for proposals.
• Perform inspection and surveillance duties associated with outsourced electrical procurement.
• Perform other similar duties as assigned.
