CesiumAstro is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to join the spacecraft team. You will translate spacecraft requirements into robust hardware designs and own board-level development from design through production, supporting subsystem definition, integration, and troubleshooting throughout the spacecraft lifecycle.
You will work alongside experienced engineers in hardware, software, FPGAs, thermal, and mechanical domains, with rapid technical growth encouraged.
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited universityHands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and signal generatorsExcellent written and spoken communication skills to work with broader cross-functional teamsExcellent electrical engineering fundamentals with an understanding of how to apply them to novel tasksWillingness to take on challenges and dig into difficult problems and stick with them until they are solvedProficiency in electronics design (EDA) tools such as Altium and experience with PCB layoutMinimum of 1 year of experience in electronics hardware developmentAbility to conduct trade studies on part selection or technical direction taking input from othersExperience creating and editing block diagrams to represent system or board functionalityTo conform with the United States Government Space Technology Export Regulations, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., conditional resident, asylee or refugee (protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of StateFamiliarity with EMI/EMC concepts and understanding of how to design to mitigate these effectsRelevant extracurricular involvement such as engineering competition teamsExperience with microcontroller or FPGA based systemsProgramming fundamentals (C/C++, Python, etc.)Advanced university coursework in analog, digital, RF, or power electronics hardwareExperience using LTSpice for circuit and/or system level simulationsSimulation and analysis experience such as power integrity, signal integrity, or worst-case circuit analysis
