Job summary

DSM-H Consulting in Peoria, IL is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join the ECM team, focusing on hardware failure investigations, test execution, and meticulous documentation throughout development and field returns.

You will work across lab and office environments, coordinating with architects and leads, performing validation testing on NTI/NPI/production parts, and maintaining test procedures and records.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in electronic hardware roles.
  • Associates in EE/EET with 12 years, or BSEE/BSEET with 8 years or MSEE with 5 years.
  • Internships accepted as relevant experience.
  • Degree of BSEE desired; experience can compensate.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and track incoming material and outbound shipments.
  • Investigate field returns and report findings for heavy electrical hardware.
  • Ensure test plans exist and are executed within product development.
  • Maintain documentation for field returns and development tests.
  • Maintain lab equipment and lab organization.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group
  • Manage production part returns and failure investigations
  • Execute validation testing on NTI/NPI/Production parts
Position’s Contributions to Work Group

Typical task breakdown:
  • Receive and track incoming material and outbound shipments
  • Perform investigations and report out on findings when field returns arrive, heavy electrical hardware failure investigation
  • Ensure test plans exist and are properly executed within product development
  • Maintain excellent documentation for both field returns and product in development (part tracking, test procedures, test results, etc)
  • Maintain lab equipment and organization
Interaction with team:
  • Daily interactions with all members of the ECM team
  • Ongoing report outs to cross functional team members on test results and failure investigations
  • Ongoing report outs to first line managers outside of work director
Team Structure
  • 1x Architect - Sets direction for product development for controllers
  • 2x Platform lead - Manages business and program needs in product development
  • 3x Technical lead - Responsible for technical development and execution
  • 1x Lab manager - Coordinates lab activities across all ECM/ECU groups

Office and lab environments, role will require switching between both areas, varies with current duties, lab PPE required = safety toe shoes with EH rating and safety glasses

Education & Experience Required:
  • Years of experience: 8+
  • Associates in EE or EET with 12 years,
  • BSEE/ BSEET with 8 years,
  • MSEE with 5 years
  • Degree requirement: BSEE desired, experience acceptable
