Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group is seeking an entry-level Electrical Drafter/Designer to assist in design and drafting tasks for electrical systems across projects. The role involves producing detailed electrical drawings and diagrams while adhering to codes and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical education.
• 1–2 years of design/drafting experience preferred.
• Proficient in 2-D CAD; 3-D CAD and Autodesk products a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical highly desired.
• Knowledge of field investigations, codes and standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Design and drafting services that meet client requirements and conform to applicable codes and standards.
• Produce electrical distributions, one-line diagrams, schematics and interconnection diagrams.
• Create plans for lighting, grounding, power, heat tracing and related details.
• Prepare conduit and cable schedules and related drawings.
• Develop detailed electrical drawings for projects.

The Electrical Drafter/Designer (Entry Level) is responsible for design and drafting services that meet the client’s requirements and expectations while conforming to appropriate Codes and Standards for the associated project. Detailed designs and drawings include:

• Power & Electrical Distribution
• Electrical One-Line Diagrams
• Schematics
• Interconnection diagrams
• Plans-Lighting, Grounding, Power, Heat Tracing, etc.
• Conduit/Cable Schedules
• Electrical Details

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
• 1-2 years design/drafting experience & skilled in standard drafting techniques, preferred
• Proficient in 2-D CAD; 3-D CAD, Plant Design, other Autodesk® products a plus
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical highly desired
• Knowledge of or proficient in field investigations and measurementsWorking knowledge of Codes and Standards
• Working knowledge of or familiarity with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and performing self-checking of work
