Job summary

Red Dynamics, a precision CNC components manufacturer, seeks an Electrical Drafter to design electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable drawings and pneumatic circuits using AutoCAD Electrical for CNC machine tools. You will collaborate with Final Assembly and Engineering to wire, debug and troubleshoot machines, and document and manage electrical/pneumatic designs within the CAD system.

Associates degree and 2+ years of drafting experience are required, along with proficiency in Electrical CAD

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• At least 2+ years of directly related design drafting experience.
• Electrical CAD proficiency, preferably with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of UL508A, NEC NFPA70, CSA, and CE.
• Proficient in Word and spreadsheet software.
• Able to work in a team with changing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal, detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable drawings and pneumatic circuits using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Support wiring, debugging and troubleshooting with Final Assembly and Engineering.
• Create, document and manage electrical/pneumatic designs within the CAD system.
• Maintain Bill of Materials for cable and panel assemblies.
• Maintain a database of electrical components and create data sheets for purchasing.
• Support existing schematics and panel layouts based on engineers' mark-ups.

Job description

Our client who specializes in high quality CNC machinery components manufacturing designed for the aerospace, woodworking, plastics, and composites industries, is seeking an Electrical Drafter, who will use AutoCAD Electrical to design new electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable drawings, and pneumatic circuits used for building CNC Machine tools. These schematics will be used by the Final Assembly team in collaboration with the Engineering Department when wiring, debugging, and troubleshooting these CNC Machines. This person will be responsible for helping create, document, and manage electrical/pneumatic designs within the CAD system as well.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

• Candidate must be detail oriented and highly competent in the development of electrical schematics.


• Working knowledge of industry standards including UL508A, NEC NFPA70, CSA, and CE


• Help support electrical schematics and panel layouts and maintain existing schematics based on mark-ups and information provided by electrical engineers and technicians.


• Help support and maintain Bill of Materials for cable and panel assemblies.


• Help with maintaining a database of electrical components and create data sheets used for purchasing.


• Experience in a manufacturing environment.


• Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.


• At least 2+ years of directly related design drafting experience.


• Electrical CAD proficiency required preferably with Autodesk, AutoCAD Electrical.


• Must be proficient in the use of word documents, spreadsheets, etc.
