Job summary

Siemens Mobility is hiring a Mechanical Assembler Level 2 for our Retrofit Team in Wendell, NC. You will build and assemble Low and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, such as switchgears, switchboards, and breakers, using standard hand and power tools and torque wrenches.

You will read BOMs, follow layouts, document transactions, and ensure adherence to safety policies while contributing as a strong team player in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or a related mechanical field.
• 1+ years of experience working with standard hand and power tools, both pneumatic and battery operated.
• Knowledge of torque wrench and applied torque values.
• Experience with using a tape measure and other measuring devices.
• Able to identify mechanical parts and electrical components.
• Ability to occasionally lift parts or sub-assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, sub-assemblies, parts kits, and aftermarket parts orders, including mechanical assembly of steel components.
• Record job transactions, read BOMs, follow layouts and assembly drawings.
• Set and use torque wrenches correctly, adhering to developed processes and seeking ways to improve.
• Adherence to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies, with a commitment to continuous improvement and be a strong team player.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
