his is a Full-Time, Exempt position based on a 40-hour work week with an hourly range of $32.34 to $43.53. This position is part of the Public Employees Union (PEU) collective bargaining agreement. The individual in this position will work out of the Electric Utility Building located at 1900 2nd Ave N, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460.
Under the supervision of the Distribution Engineering Manager (DEM) the Electrical Distribution Engineer (EDE) is responsible for ensuring that system designs and upgrades include features designed to yield improved reliability of all equipment/systems f. The EDE is tasked with providing the design of Overhead and Underground Residential Distribution (URD) for Electric Distribution Facilities in support of The City of Lake Worth Beach Electric Utility Department strategic initiatives.
In cooperation with Transmission & Distribution (T&D), System Operations (SysOps), and other departments the EDE will participate in and help the utility’s efforts to improve reliability not only through improved suggestions to the line department management and field crews but also in capital project definition including design, commissioning, and implementation processes. Additionally, this position will require technical knowledge and/or interest of digital applications for modeling, designing, and system improvement.

Current State of Florida driver’s license.
All full-time employees are considered critical in response to emergency situations and may be deemed essential as needed depending on the situation.
Employees in this position will be required to complete the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800 within the first six months of employment. Certain positions may be required to attain additional ISC training as needed.
