Addison Group is seeking an Electrical Distribution Designer to join our team in Texas. The role involves designing both overhead and underground distribution facilities and collaborating with property owners, engineering firms, and construction teams.

• Three years’ experience in electric distribution design and estimation.
• Knowledge of operation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Represent self professionally in meetings with property owners, other engineering firms and construction resources.
• Stay abreast of changing technologies, work planning, and design methodologies in Electric Distribution Design.
• Mentor and/or train staff to transfer design knowledge.
• Proficient with design of overhead and underground electric distribution facilities.
• Recognize 4kV–35kV distribution framing and components and initiate designs for construction or reconstruction.
• Perform distribution line design calculations for structure loading, guying, and sag interpretation.

Job description

Role: Electrical Distribution Designer

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 / year

Location: Houston, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Texas

Benefits: This role is eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401k and PTO.

Required Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Ability to represent self professionally while meeting with property owners, other engineering firms and construction resources.
• Ability to stay abreast with the changing technologies, work planning, and design methodologies associated with Electric Distribution Design.
• Ability to mentor and/or train others staff members to transfer personal design knowledge to others.
• Proficient with the design of both overhead and underground electric distribution facilities.
• Ability to recognize electric distribution framing and components 4kV through 35kV, to initiate designs for construction or reconstruction of both overhead and underground distribution facilities.
• Ability to perform distribution line design calculations for structure loading, guying, geometric angle calculations, conductor sag interpretation, unitized framing design, construction practices and construction safety guidelines using industry tools and methods.

Desired Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Prefer an Associate’s degree or certificate in Electric Power Technology and/or three (3) years’ prior experience with electric distribution design and estimation.
• Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems.
• Experience in joint construction and electric utility best practices.
