Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Electrical Detailer in Albuquerque to assist with plans and produce non-routine drawings from rough sketches and notes. The role involves supporting CAD drawing production across a diverse project portfolio and clients.

You will maintain CAD proficiency, help with QA/QC, and mentor junior staff while ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget. Travel is possible, and full-time work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field with 2 years' experience, or equivalent education.
• Or associate's degree with 3 years of related detailing experience.
• Or high school diploma with 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel.
• Ability to use 2D and 3D applications to prepare drawings.
• Strong communication, analytical, and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a full range of drawing production work.
• Produce project deliverables in an efficient and budget-conscious manner.
• Assist with CAD drawing production and project execution.
• Printing, scanning, and submitting drawing packages.
• Maintain high CAD proficiency and mastery of current CAD systems.
• Effectively use multiple application packages where necessary.
• Train, mentor, and develop staff.
• Review and adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Resource management.
• Identification of priority tasks and implementation of plans of execution.
• Communicate with the team and management about the workload.
• Maintain a record of client or company CAD standards.
• Provide quality feedback on work.
• Assist in the QA/QC process.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
